An organization known for its humanitarian work says demand for their services is up as people struggle to make ends meet. So it decided to offer up a big breakfast at the Delta.
“Impossible Choices” was launched by the Salvation Army in metro as some have to choose between things like paying rent or putting presents under the Christmas tree for their kids.
Major Pam Goodyear, public relations for the Salvation Army for the Atlantic region, says the Hope in the City Breakfast is more than a gathering—it’s a call to action.
The new initiative brought together nearly 300 business, community and government leaders to kick off the holiday season and officially launch the Christmas Kettle Campaign.
Their food bank serves 900 families every month and over a four-month period, there were 400 new families looking to the Salvation Army for assistance with putting food on the table.
