The health minister confirms that any “inappropriate” leasing arrangements involving housing for travel agency nurses have been terminated and the AG has been informed.
John Hogan was responding to questions from Health Critic Barry Petten in the House of Assembly.
Petten questioned the minister on allegations from the Registered Nurses Union that Health Authority managers were renting homes to travel agency nurses at “significant profit.”
Minister Hogan says the department under his predecessor investigated the matter and those leases were terminated.
He says the former minister and NLHS corresponded over the summer, and “in August of 2024 I was advised as a new minister that there were issues under the Conflict of Interest Act and any inappropriate leases have since been terminated.”
