There’s a shakeup in the upper echelons of the East Coast Music Awards’ Board of Directors.
Debbie Mullins who has served as the board’s Chair for the last three years has stepped down, but will continue to serve as the elected representative for Cape Breton.
Mullins is being replaced by Michelle Eagles who took over the role effective November 12th.
The board says it is aware of concerns in the local music community about the future direction of the East Coast Music Awards and recent program and awards eligibility changes.
A petition began circulating earlier this year calling for accountability and transparency within the organization. The board says members perspectives are “essential” and they’re committed to engaging with members in a “meaningful” way.
