The province is monitoring the current strike at Canada Post with plans in place for those who receive their benefits cheques by mail.
Approximately three per cent of the 21,000 people who receive income support get their cheques in the mail.
Specific locations are being set up for those affected to pick up their cheques. Accommodations are also being made for the 70 Public Service Pension Plan members who also receive their cheques through the mail.
Payments issued through direct deposit will not be affected.
Officials are encouraging those who receive cheques to switch to direct deposit if possible.
