Memorial University has seen a 3.3 per cent increase in new, incoming local undergraduate students across all campuses this year over last. However, international enrolment is down dramatically.
International enrolment has dropped by 14.5 per cent over the fall of 2023, excluding undergraduate and postgraduate medicine and Marine Institute non-degree enrolment.
Policy changes made last year resulted in a 35 per cent reduction in the number of study permits issued, resulting in a drop in international student enrolment.

NL students make up 64.6 per cent of student enrolment at MUN, while 10.6 per cent are from other parts of Canada with 24.7 per cent are international students.
