A test of the province’s Alert Ready system will take place today.

That means television, radio and wireless devices including cell phones will sound with a test alert at 10:45 island time and 10:15 in most parts of Labrador.

The province says however that not all wireless devices will go off due to device compatibility, network connection, cell tower coverage and device software or settings.

The Alert Ready service is used to convey critical and potentially life-saving alerts in the event of a disaster or other emergency.
