Philip Pynn, whose criminal history is well-known throughout the province, is facing new charges, this time for allegedly assaulting an inmate at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary.
The incident is said to have occurred on November 19, with correctional officers telling the RNC that a fight happened with an inmate suffering injuries that required medical treatment.
Now, 38-year-old Pynn has been charged with assault and choking.
Pynn remains in custody and appeared in court yesterday on the new charges.
Pynn currently has another case making its way through the justice system in which he is accused of smuggling drugs into HMP.
On the same day the alleged assault occurred Pynn’s lawyer requested a bail hearing for his client, which has been set for December 9.
