Four more people have been arrested in connection with two violent assaults in Mount Pearl on Friday – bringing the total number of young people arrested to six.
Two teens were charged earlier this week.
The assaults, allegedly involving a baseball bat, occurred on Roosevelt Avenue – one near Morris Academy and another further down the road.
Police say the accused are between the ages of 13 and 16.
RNC Constable James Cadigan says he’s not sure whether more arrests will be made.
“The charges range from aggravated assault and assault with a weapon to uttering threats, so that’s the type of offenses that are in play here,” he said.
A court appearance is scheduled for today.
The Constabulary increased patrols in the area, and some after-school activities, like Girl Guides meetings at Morris Academy, were cancelled this week.
