The provincial government says preparations are underway to ensure that those in receipt of income support and rely on Canada Post for their cheques, will get their payments tomorrow.
The province says 97 per cent of the 21,000 people who receive income support, get their payments through direct deposit—and that won’t change.
The December 1 social assistance cheques for those who still receive their payments in the mail will be available for pick up tomorrow (Friday, November 29) at the nearest Income Support office or cheque distribution site.
