It’s getting way down in the fall, and in the spirit of giving during the holiday season, the motherhood support group, The Harbour, is holding a clothing drive to collect items for babies, kids, and adults.
Kelia Cadigan, one of the founders of The Harbour, says they want to give back to the community. They spoke with the Association for New Canadians and found that people are in need of winter clothing – everything from footwear to headwear.
She says there are toddlers going to daycare in the metro region without winter clothing. She can’t imagine dropping her toddler to daycare without such protection from the elements, but she says some people have no choice.
Clothing can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to noon next Sunday.
It’s at the Justina Centre in Logy Bay, and there will be tea and coffee. The Town of Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove has provided the facility for the cause.
