A special moment in the House of Assembly on Wednesday afternoon as Education Minister—and new mom—Krista Lynn Howell brought her three-month-old son Orion into the legislature.
Howell held and rocked her son in her arms while responding to the Opposition during Question Period, appearing less distracted than other MHAs who could be seen waving and smiling at the baby.
Orion also appeared unphased and was perhaps the quietest person in the House amid the raucous debate yesterday.
Howell says being able to cradle her child while answering questions in the House was special.
“It was pretty cool today, I’m not going to lie. That was a great experience. I think it was the perfect combination of two of the things in my life right now that are taking up the most time and energy and passion. I’m very proud to be a member of this government, but also probably moreso proud to be a mom today.”
