The old fish plant in New Harbour has a new lease on life.

Dildo Brewery is expanding and developing a new production facility in the old fish plant in hopes of tripling its output.

Company spokesperson Angie Reid says they’ve seen real growth in demand for their craft beer over the past few years, and the new facility will allow them to produce a wider variety of beers.

She says the building is something they wanted to preserve and repurpose for the benefit of the community.

“There’s very few people in this area who have not been affected by that fish plant,” says Reid. “Fish plant money was the money in this area for a very, very long time. So we’ve all been raised on the hard work that came out of that plant.”
