The CEO of Marine Atlantic admits that stakeholder groups are raising concerns about capacity on the Gulf service and the corporation should be in a better position to address capacity in the next year or so.
Murray Hupman says the numbers bear out the capacity concerns raised, and their next step is to address the matter with Transport Canada to find the best solution.
“We’ll probably have to live with what we have for this coming season” says Hupman, “but hopefully, a year or two down the road, we’ll see some big changes and we’ll actually see some capacity augmented, or increased, or maybe even a ship replaced by that time.”
