The mayor of Mount Pearl says things are looking positive for the city heading into the new year.
The city recently tabled a $58.8-million budget for its operations in 2025, which includes no mil rate increases, and no increases to fees for things like water and wastewater.
Dave Aker says the city is in a good position financially.
He says they have managed their funding “really, really well.” He says they were focused on mil rates this year and keeping the budget within 0.6 per cent of an increase. “I think that’s pretty good given that inflation is still running around 2 and 3 per cent.”
