The provincial government is moving ahead with the next steps to get their new integrated road and air ambulance service fully operational.
Last summer, all ambulance services were brought under the umbrella of Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, whereas before, it was a mix of public, private, and volunteer operators.
Then, last fall, the province announced that Medavie had been selected to run the new integrated system, which included providing management and clinical staff, dispatching calls, and managing ambulance dispatch and all associated infrastructure.
Health Minister John Hogan says they are still working on the finer details of the contract.
He says they hope to have to a contract officially signed by the spring.
