The town of Conception Bay South is bullish about the takeover of the Manuels River Hibernia Interpretation Centre, a feature attraction in the town.
The centre highlights the extraordinary trilobite fossils dating back 500 million years, which are found throughout the area.
Deputy Mayor Andrea Gosse says taking over the operation of the facility from Manuels River Community Inc. is seen as a great opportunity for the town.
“It will be a community space,” says Gosse, who points out that the town doesn’t have an indoor community space at this time. Their next priority in the year ahead will be to develop a recreational/cultural master plan.
