A big turn-out is anticipated as participants brace themselves for a chilly dip in the waters of Conception Bay.

The Canadian Mental Health Association is hosting its New Year’s Day polar bear dip tomorrow.

The event draws hundreds to Chapel’s Cove Beach, all in support of mental health services in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The dip is now into its 12th year, having started with just four participants in 2012.

The polar bear dip gets underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
