Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador will have the need for thousands of workers over the next decade or so as they plan on four hydro megaprojects on the Churchill River including the development of Gull Island and the twinning of the power plant in Churchill Falls.
The President and CEO of Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro, Jennifer Williams, sees the need for skilled and other labour as both a challenge and an opportunity.
“For anyone who wants to get in on the action, I think now is the time for us to be talking about that,” says Williams. That includes speaking with the schools on the types of jobs there will be in order to meet construction timelines.
