Municipalities across the province had to contend with a multitude of challenges in 2024, according to Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador.

President Amy Coady says weather challenges, particularly as at relates to climate change and climate adaptation, were of particular concern.

They also had to figure out financial issues and infrastructure needs.

Coady says they try to maintain their service levels with the funding provided, and while it is challenging they work to make sure residents’ needs are met.
