Despite the heroic efforts of the Norris Point and Rocky Harbour fire departments, a home on Hospital Lane in the west coast community was a total loss.
The fire broke out on Wednesday, consuming the home, and leaving the affected family with nothing.
Firefighters were on the scene for an extended period trying to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes and vehicles.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
Bonne Bay Search and Rescue assisted the fire department by deploying a drone to check for hot spots
The Fire Department is asking area residents to use caution while accessing Hospital Lane over the next few days.
