Labrador Marine is reporting a record number of passenger vehicles and freight on the marine service to the north coast of Labrador in 2024.
General Manager Captain Austin Daley says they typically see traffic drop off after the first week of October, but this year they moved 351 vehicles after the first of October and nearly 1600 passengers, including 433 in December.
The season wrapped up on December 29th, the latest-even end to their seasonal service.
It’s hoped that the marine service will resume from Goose Bay on June 15th depending on ice and weather conditions.
