Three people have been arrested in connection with a home invasion in Comfort Cove this week.
A call came in to Lewisporte RCMP around 9:30 Monday evening claiming that three people forced their way into a home, demanding that the resident open a safe, and stole a ring valued at approximately $3000.
An axe and vape were also grabbed on the way out. The occupant of the home was not hurt.
Later that evening, RCMP located 31-year-old Brandon Pearce and 25-year-old Georgia Barnes in a vehicle on the parking lot of a Lewisporte business and took them into custody. A sawed-off shotgun found inside the vehicle was seized by police.
Pearce and Barnes appeared in court yesterday and were released on conditions pending their next court appearance. Pearce is facing charges of break and enter, uttering threats and firearms-related charges.
Barnes was charged with break and enter and resisting arrest.
Meanwhile, 34-year-old Andrew Hurley, who was arrested yesterday, is charged with break and enter, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and possession of a prohibited firearm.
The investigation continues.
