Classic southern rock icons, Lynyrd Skynyrd have added the Mary Brown’s Centre in St. John’s to a ten-stop tour across Canada this fall.
Lynyrd Skynyrd will take the stage in St. John’s on September 25th.
Formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1973, the band behind Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama suffered a catastrophic blow at the height of their fame.
Lead singer and founding member Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines and back-up singer Cassie Gaines were killed in a plane crash in October of 1977 that also claimed the lives of the pilot and first officer, and the band’s road manager.
The band was re-formed in 1987 featuring Ronnie’s brother Johnny Van Zant.
An artist pre-sale goes live tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. local time, and will continue through to Thursday, January 23rd at 10:00 p.m.
