Premier Andrew Furey was in Washington for yesterday’s proceedings, but also took the opportunity to represent the province’s contributions to U.S. officials as part of what he calls the Team Canada approach.
Furey took the opportunity to meet with fellow premiers and members of the Prime Minister’s Council on Canada-US Relations.
Among the other premiers who attended the inauguration were Danielle Smith of Alberta, and Dennis King of Prince Edward Island.
Furey also met with Unifor President Lana Payne who was also in attendance.
In Washington, I was proud to represent Newfoundland and Labrador’s valuable contributions – like seafood and oil and gas – to our U.S. neighbours with our Team Canada approach, along with fellow Premiers and key stakeholders, including the Canada-U.S. Business Council. pic.twitter.com/RSyLRda4eo
