The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association is “extremely concerned,” following new information about what data was accessed during a cybersecurity incident with PowerSchool last month.
The province revealed yesterday that over 14,000 teachers, with information dating back to 2010, had their data compromised in the breach – including 749 social insurance numbers and a small number of MCP numbers.
The Association says they expect the government to do a full investigation into the matter and to take all necessary steps to protect the privacy of everyone affected.
They are encouraging anyone affected to refer to the information provided by government regarding credit monitoring and public updates.
