PC Leader Tony Wakeham says the oversight panel for the Churchill Falls MOU falls short of providing the independent oversight he has been looking for.
The makeup of the committee, headed by Consumer Advocate Dennis Browne, was announced earlier this week.
The entire PC caucus walked out of the House of Assembly when it came time for the final vote due to their requests for independent oversight not being adhered to.
Wakeham says the oversight committee “falls short on meaningful independent review.”
He says they don’t have to ability to determine what other options were available to the province, and ultimately will not answer the questions of if this is the best deal possible.
