RCMP have added a charge of drug-impaired driving against a 20-year-old Harbour Grace man following an incident on the south side of Carbonear last September.
Police say Mitchell Cox was arrested September 13th on charges of dangerous driving and flight from police after failing to stop for Harbour Grace RCMP.
The vehicle Cox was driving struck a police vehicle while trying to get away after officers located the vehicle on the South Side Road.
Cox was taken to hospital for a blood sample, as police suspected he was impaired at the time.
According to RCMP, the toxicology report supported an additional charge of drug-impaired driving.
Cox is scheduled to appear in court in Harbour Grace on February 19th, and again on March 26th, to face the charges.
