The gloves are off and Premier Andrew Furey, Finance Minister Siobhan Coady, and NLC President Bruce Keating are expected to detail measures Newfoundland and Labrador is taking in response to US tariffs on Canadian goods later today.
The federal government fired back against punishing US tariffs on Canadian goods on the weekend, slapping similar 25 per cent tariffs on a wide range of US products bound for Canada.
Newfoundland and Labrador has joined with other provinces in pulling American products from liquor store shelves.

Premier Andrew Furey says American wines, spirits and other products will be pulled from NLC stores by Tuesday.
Newfoundland and Labrador joins other provinces including Nova Scotia, Ontario and British Columbia which has taken similar measures in light of the trade war.
Sunday’s VOCM Question of the Day poll found that the majority of respondents (94 per cent) support removing American products from NLC stores.
A news conference has been called for 2:00 this afternoon at the NLC store at Howley Estates in St. John’s.
