Energy NL says its “deeply disappointed” with the economic action taken against Canada by the United States, the impact of which could be “substantive” to the local energy service and supply sector.
Energy NL says Trump’s action illustrates the need for more diversified markets and for Canadians to give serious consideration to energy security.
The local industry organization says to help foster growth, oil and gas related activities should once again be eligible for the Atlantic Investment Tax Credit. CEO Charlene Johnson says now is the time for the province to take advantage of “what we have and what we are good at.”
She’s also calling for a removal fo the emission cap, which she equates to a cap on production which will only exacerbate the current economic situation.
