Some phone and communications services on the north coast of Labrador may be affected by ice damage caused to microwave tower equipment.

Crews reported severe ice damage to the newly installed antenna equipment on three separate towers according to Bell.

That would result in intermittent service for customers in communities along the north coast of Labrador.

The damage was caused to sites which are in remote and high elevation areas that are only accessible by helicopter.

Crews are hoping to get to the affected sites as soon as possible weather permitting.
