The provincial government says a meeting is in the works with the AAHP after the union expressed concerns that its members were being left out of retention incentives.
Government is offering assurances that it values the essential role of medical flight specialists in Newfoundland and Labrador.
The province was responding to recent concerns raised by the Association of Allied Health Professionals which expressed dismay that paramedics working on air ambulances were left out of incentives and supports offered to road ambulance operators.
The Department of Health says medical flight specialists are a different job classification than paramedics who were the focus of recent recruitment and retention incentives.
The department says it welcomes opportunities to meet with the AAHP to discuss any concerns it may have, and a meeting is in the works.
