A local group has been established to address what they see as the rising cost of veterinary services in the province.
Mike Keough with Pet Collective NL claims many local vet clinics have been acquired by larger corporations that are inflating their prices.
He notes he’s heard from pet owners facing bills exceeding $30,000, and he is urging the provincial government to take action against the escalating costs.
Keough says he wrote the province asking how much the government collected in taxes from vet clinics, but has yet to receive a response.
