The Chair of the Religious Social Action Coalition of Newfoundland and Labrador is being honoured with a King Charles III Coronation Medal for her multi-faith and guaranteed living income advocacy.
The Very Reverend Dr. Marion Pardy of the United Church of Canada has been a director and chair of the Regional Social Action Coalition since 2020. Pardy was nominated by Haseen Khan, an executive member of the Canadian Interfaith Conversation, citing her work in confronting antisemitism and Islamophobia.
Pardy, a Newfoundlander, served as the 37th Moderator of the United Church of Canada from 2000-2003.
The medal will be delivered in March, and a presentation ceremony is planned at the Masjid-al-Noor Mosque in St. John’s at a later date.
