A man from Trinity in Bonavista North has been charged for his alleged role in a fiery crash last summer that claimed the lives of two people.
Glovertown RCMP were first called on the morning of July 23rd to reports of a single-vehicle accident on the main highway near Hare Bay that left a truck in flames in the middle of the road.
Two passengers inside the vehicle, a man and a woman, both of whom were 62-years-old, died at the scene.
The driver, identified as 53-year-old Roger Hunt of Trinity, suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
Now, police have charged Hunt with two counts of dangerous operation causing death.
His next court appearance is scheduled for April 8th in Gander.
