The Opposition health critic say the Janeway Eye Clinic’ s waitlist is so long, patients are essentially being turned away with no appointment times booked.

Barry Petten says he was recently contacted by a family who were referred to the Janeway by their child’s optometrist, but were shocked to learn that the hospital’s waitlist is so long, they couldn’t get an appointment date confirmed.

Petten says now the family is exploring options outside the province. That, says Petten, is another example of how the healthcare system is failing local families.
