Air travelers can expect to see a few more friendly faces and wagging tails at St. John’s airport.
St. John Ambulance officially introduced it’s Therapy Dog Program to St. John’s International this week, and it’s already making a positive impression.
Georgina Short, a member of the RNC, has two shih tzus in the program.
She says the dogs -Handsome Hershey and Gorgeous Gladys – only started visiting the airport on Sunday and she’s already noticed a difference.
“It helps with the travelers, some travelers are stressed, some travelers left home without their puppies, and some people just enjoy the presence of the dogs” says Short, “it’s just so nice to see people smiling and engaging and calming down.”
