NL Health Services CEO Pat Parfrey will hold a news conference at the Western Long Term Care Home in Corner Brook today.
Concerns have been raised in recent months about overcrowding at the emergency department at the new Western Memorial Regional Hospital.
Area MHA Eddie Joyce says people waiting to get in to long-term care are taking up beds at the hospital, creating the bottle neck.
Joyce has suggested that the old hospital in Corner Brook, which is still functional, could be used to take some of the load off.
Parfrey will speak with media at noon.
VOCM News will have the latest as it becomes available.
