A man who last year was declared a long-term sexual offender is facing more charges of performing indecent acts in the presence of others at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary.
Police were called on January 27 about an inmate performing sex acts upon himself while among staff and other inmates.
The RNC charged 33-year-old Stephen Hopkins with three counts, and he appeared in court on the charges yesterday afternoon.
That’s in addition to five charges laid last year in connection with similar incidents alleged to have occurred in March of 2023, and four times last June, all at HMP.
Last year, Hopkins was sentenced to six and a half years in prison and declared a long-term sex offender after being convicted of sexually assaulting a teen in 2020, in addition to previous sex offences. At the time he avoided dangerous offender status, which would have resulted in an indefinite prison sentence.
