It is a windy one right across the island today and in parts of Labrador, and that’s having an impact on the transportation network.
Some highways are not recommended for travel in some areas because of whiteouts and drifting.

Some ferries are tied up, including Bell Island and Labrador.
A number of flights at YYT are either delayed or cancelled as winds are gusting to 90km/h.
Meteorologist Erika Ranger at the Gander Weather Office says the strong northwesterlies are the result of a low-pressure system sitting off the Funk Island Bank.
Winds are gusting to 90km/h in many areas, including the Avalon, but gusts of 102km/h have been recorded in St. John’s. It will be windy most of the weekend as we are mired in that strong northwesterly flow with wind chills near minus 20.
