A Labrador woman is taking home some hardware from the Atlantic Canada Craft Awards.
April Allen from Rigolet on the north coast has been awarded the Industry Leader Award for her work in the craft sector.
Allen has been using traditional Inuk materials, including leather, fur and sealskin.
Her work has already been featured on some of the biggest stages, such as in New York, Paris and Milan.
She described it as a “way of storytelling, preserving culture, and building connections.”
Other Newfoundlanders who took home awards include Newbornlander Baby Store and East Coast Quilt co.
