Perry Trimper says Labrador is driven by the mining industry, a huge source of economic activity, employment and the future of Newfoundland and Labrador as a whole.
He says the erratic economic threats made by Donald Trump against Canadian resources will have broad-reaching implications on everything from the mining industry to the cost of living.
Trimper has been speaking with various mining officials, in particular the senior team at Vale, which just celebrated the completion of its mine expansion at Voisey’s Bay.
“This is extremely troubling,” says Trimper. “To have so many curve balls coming so erratically from this president, it really provides for a lot of uncertainty.”
