A local lawyer has filed a class action lawsuit with the Supreme Court on behalf of passengers of a commercial flight that made a hard landing at Halifax in late December after part of the landing gear failed on touch down.
Stephen Barnes of Bob Buckingham Law says given the technical nature of investigations into airplane crashes and the length of time it takes for reports to be generated, he believes it will be some time before significant progress is made.
He says once the parties have been served with copies of the proposed Class Action Statement of Claim, they will begin preparing their application to ask the Court to certify the action as a class proceeding.
Anyone who was a passenger on Air Canada Flight A2259 from St. John’s to Halifax on December 28th is asked to complete the registration form on a website set up for the class action.
