Traffic enforcement officers are joining with Service NL in participating in the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance Human Trafficking Awareness Initiative.
Today is the last day of the campaign.
Police and inspection officers across the province have been helping to raise awareness about human trafficking by passing out wallet cards to commercial truck drivers during inspections and traffic stops.
The wallet cards include what to watch for and warning signs that may indicate someone is involved in, or the victim of, human trafficking and how to report a suspected case.
The aim of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s annual five-day initiative is to raise awareness about human trafficking.
