The Kittiwake Joint Council in Bonavista North is in the process of developing what it calls a “complex” but “rewarding” tourism and recreation project in Bonavista North.
The project would involve the construction of what’s being called a state-of-the-art series of coastal hiking and walking trails spanning approximately 100 km of coastline from Gambo to Indian Bay.
To get the project going, the Joint Council is reaching out to like-minded individuals interested in getting involved.
The committee would be tasked with developing a plan in accordance with a Trail Development Checklist.
That would include finding funding sources and engaging with professional trail designers.
The joint council expects that because of the size and scale of the project, it will be undertaken in phases. They’re asking anyone interested, whether young or old or athletic or not, to contact the town council offices in Gambo, Hare Bay, Dover, Centreville-Wareham-Trinity, and Indian Bay.
