Three years on from the Russian invasion of Ukraine, many are waiting to see how the war could end – but the effect of U.S. President Donald Trump on how things proceed is creating “anxiety” among many.
That’s according to Bruce Lilly, who is with the Avalon chapter of the Ukrainian National Federation.
Lilly says people don’t know what they are going to get from day-to-day.
“So if you’re paying too close attention to what’s said on Thursday and you’re trying to figure out what’s about to happen, and then by Saturday a whole other headline from that government is now on the front page. So that unknowing of what’s going to happen, how things are going to shake out, whether Ukraine is going to be carved up or whether there’s going to be some sort of fair actual peace deal where its borders are respected, is a big question. So Ukrainians are in a period of waiting.”
