Doug Ford and the Progressive Conservatives waltzed to victory as another term as Premier of Ontario yesterday.

He had roughly twice as many seats as all other parties combined.

The NDP, led by Newfoundlander Marit Stiles, will form the official opposition and The Liberals will be the third party.

Premier Doug Ford capitalized on a battle with U.S. President Donald Trump, often emerging as Captain Canada.

Ford reiterated his commitment to fighting back against Trump’s 25 per cent tariffs during his victory speech.

“I will work with every level of government and every political stripe, because fighting back against Donald Trump, standing up for Canada, it will take a Team Ontario effort, it will take a full Team Canada effort,” Ford told supporters.

It’s Premier Ford’s third majority government.
