A 66-year-old man is dead as the result of a snowmobile crash near Eddies Cove West on the Northern Peninsula on the weekend.
Port Saunders RCMP were called to a remote area of the back country shortly before 6:30 last Friday evening.
Two snowmobilers came upon an overturned snowmobile, and found the body of the driver underneath the machine.
The man’s body was removed from the area which is only accessible by snowmobile, and taken to the hospital in Corner Brook.
RCMP say the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office is involved in the investigation.
