The Transportation Safety Board found there was no way to determine how a fire started on the ill-fated Elite Navigator, forcing seven crew members to spend nearly 48 hours in a life raft adrift in the Atlantic.
A TSB report released today found there was no way to seal off the engine room and put the fire out at the time.
The report found that the vessel had met safety regulations and had extensive fire safety equipment, well beyond industry regulations.
The Canadian Coast Guard found one the final flares from the “Lucky 7.”
