One of the most celebrated athletes and recognizable faces in the Town of Conception Bay South has passed away.
Norm Simpson, who excelled in many sports, was a member of the CBS Sports Hall of Fame as an athlete and a builder.
Known around town as “Uncle Norm,” Simpson gave back to the community in terms of volunteering. He carried the torch for the CBS Summer Games in 2016 at the age of 78.
Simpson, who is waking at Hickey’s in Kelligrews, was 87 years old.
