A piece of Miawpukek First Nation Artwork, which celebrates Mi’kmaq culture, has been unveiled at Confederation Building.
The original piece of artwork by Brittany Wiseman is called Powwow Serenity.
Government says the work of art illustrates the spirit of the Mi’kmaq people.
It will be installed in the main lobby of Confederation Building at a later date.
This is the second piece of Indigenous artwork unveiled at Confederation building over the past week. It is part of a larger initiative by the province to procure six pieces of Indigenous artwork—Five from Indigenous Governments and Organizations, and the other to honour the culture of the Beothuk.
